Service and Media FAQ

 

 
 

1) Do I still have a contract?

If your contract was with Alliance Storage Technologies; then YES your contract is still active and you will not have any interruptions. If your contract was with Plasmon; then NO, unfortunately Plasmon went out of business; therefore any contracts with them are no longer active.
We are very sympathetic to the customers, venders, partners, and employees that were all hurt in some way by the demise of Plasmon.
However there is some good news, Alliance Storage Technologies acquired all of the Plasmon assets in January 2009.  Our goal is to help all former Plasmon customers with on-site maintenance service contracts and support for Plasmon products. To aid in that goal, key Plasmon support personnel were hired on by Alliance.
The assets included the full line of libraries, drives, and NAS products as well as Plasmon software, media, support and all related intellectual property. Alliance will continue to provide parts, support, sales, and maintenance for all of the Plasmon product lines.  In addition our manufacturing facility will continue to produce new products. Alliance's focus is to insure customer satisfaction and confidence in UDO.

 

2) Are we honoring the existing Plasmon contracts?

Unfortunately Not. Alliance Storage Technologies did not receive any of the money for the contracts held by Plasmon and did not acquire any of the Plasmon liabilities. However, Alliance Storage Technologies can help you establish a new contract to ensure continued product support and coverage. We will do what we can to help you.

3) Who is the service provider?

Alliance Storage Technologies is a maintenance service provider for Plasmon systems and will be partnering with many authorized and trained service providers to insure the best service and coverage to our customers.

 

4) Where do I get Media?

5) How do we initiate a Time and Materials Service?

Once a service call is opened and software error logs have been received and reviewed a quote for T&M can be provided.

 

6) How can I receive a contract quote?

Contract quotes can be acquired from one of our Account Managers.  They can be reached via phone, 719.593.4425, or visit our website, http://www.Alliance Storage Technologiestech.com/service/index.html, Please provide the library serial number, equipment location and hours of coverage requested for the quote.
